News! The new release of Swinging Italy CD with special
liner-notes written by Byron Werner!
Yes! Byron Werner,
who invented the term "S.A.B.P.M."
(Space Age Bachelor Pad Music),
wrotes, during last November, the liner notes for Swinging Italy CD!
Byron's liner notes:
Attention Earthlings!
From out of the future come the Transistors! Drawing upon seasoned
musical talents, these two adventurous Italians have forged a musical
style made up of exotic influences both of the past and the present,
and yet right up-to-date for today's young swinging moderns!
When the recent craze of Space Age Bachelor Pad Music first started
making its way around the world, it was mainly a revivalist movement,
saving obscure, quirky records from History's trash pile. Now we move
into the second phase: taking up where the old craze left off and
extending it into the future!
The TRANSISTORS, Maurizio Erman Mansueti and Vic G, are
gentlemen of heart and talent, vision and imagination, intellect and
soul. Their fantastic creations are intelligent soundtracks for the
modern age, joining Easy Listening and Psychedelic styles in a seamless
mixture that is most pleasurable for relaxed listening, but also serving
as a potent accompanyment for dancing. They draw upon the Masters
of the past, Esquivel, Mancini, Morricone, Barry, and Piccioni, to
name a few, with a skill that shows that influence in the subtext,
rather than in a blatant sampling form. Thanks to their time-traveling
TRANSISTORS MOBILE UNIT ONE, they are also able to throw interplanetary
and futuristic influences into the blend. Everything from Atlantis
to Mars and beyond is blended so that YOU, the modern swingers of
the world, can have the most up-to-date musical experience available!
As a young lad, I was disappointed that the future of bubble-top cars
and flying jet-packs promised by POPULAR SCIENCE magazines was not
forthcoming. Little did I know that the world of the future was just
catching its breath and would indeed come to pass! And so now, I proudly
give you a toast to the coming world: Good luck, TRANSISTORS, in your
courageous mission to bring the modern world into the future, where
it belongs!
May you succeed beyond your wildest dreams!
